Welcome to Colwyn Bay Cricket Club website. The club was founded in 1923 and started playing at its Penrhyn Avenue ground in Rhos-on-Sea in 1924.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams play in their respective ECB Premier and First Divisions of the Liverpool & District Cricket Competition. Colwyn Bay Cricket Club was assessed as the best ground in the Competition for the 6th successive year in 2011. Our most junior sides play local teams in under 9 and under 10 age groups and our under 11, under 13 and under 15 teams play in the Eryri Leagues.
The club regularly hosts County Cricket and in 2010 and 2011 welcomed both Glamorgan and the Unicorns (the ECB Recreational XI). The Unicorns played Lancashire Lightning on Sunday 24th July 2011 and Glamorgan Dragons played the same opposition on Sunday 21st August in the Clydesdale Bank 40 League. Leicestershire CCC were Glamorgan's opponents in the 4 day County Championship match in August. Both matches resulted in Glamorgan wins.
In 2012 Glamorgan's visit will be earlier than usual. They will play Yorkshire CCC in the County Championship starting on Wednesday 6th June - immediately after the Bank Holiday and the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. On Sunday 10th June Durham CCC will return to the ground for the first time since 1993 when their Dynamos play the Glamorgan Dragons in the Clydesdale Bank 40. | Sub Categories | Sub Categories within Main category
