ClubmarkColwyn Bay Cricket Club has completed the documentation required to gain ECB Clubmark accreditation and was presented with the Certificate by Paul Russell, chairman of Glamorgan CCC on Friday 10th August 2007.
The validation lasts for three years and the porcess of completing the documentation for re-accrediation is virtually complete.
This process has given the Club the opportunity to write and implement new procedures as well as acknowledge existing good practices. The Club is required to present evidence and demonstrate implementation across four different themes, culminating in the production of a Club Development Plan.
The four themes are
- The Cricket Programme
- Duty of Care and Safeguarding Young People
- Sports Equity and Ethics
- Club Management
The Codes of Practice appear on the website and every person has received a copy of those which are relevant to their involvement with the Club.
Clubmark accreditation is a requirement of the Club's continuation in an ECB Premier League and will enable the Club to access grant funding for any cricket related capital projects we may wish to pursue. No monies will be forthcoming without this accrediation. A grant of £1,000 towards the cost of winter coaching activities has been received in the past and a grant of 75% of the cost of the outfield mower was received in 2008.
